What destroys Brazilian families is the 6 x 1 scale, says Sâmia Bonfim

The deputy (Psol-SP) stated this Sunday (June 7, 2026), during the 30th edition of the São Paulo LGBT+ Pride Parade, that it is among the factors that “destroy” Brazilian families. The congresswoman also criticized proposals that attempt to restrict the participation of children and adolescents in the event on the grounds that it is inappropriate for minors.

“What destroys Brazilian families is domestic violence, paternal abandonment, the parent who does not pay the pension and the 6×1 scale that does not give the right to rest, family life and joy”, he stated.

The deputy said in her speech that the projects presented by politicians to remove the LGBT+ Parade from Avenida Paulista or limit the presence of minors at the event represent attacks on diversity and freedom of expression.

During her speech, the congresswoman once again defended the end of the 6 x 1 scale and said that the change would increase workers’ rest and family time.

“We will defeat this exploitative scale precisely so that all Brazilian families can have time and the possibility of rest”these.

Sâmia also directed criticism at companies that support the LGBT+ Parade after pressure from conservative groups. According to the deputy, brands that use speeches related to diversity must support the guarantee of rights for the LGBT+ community.

The 30th edition of the São Paulo LGBT+ Pride Parade this Sunday (June 7, 2026) on Avenida Paulista. The event brought together around 36,800 people, as estimated by the USP/Cebrap Political Debate Monitor and the NGO More in Common. This year’s theme was “The street calls, the ballot box confirms”.
