The Haval H9 surpassed the sales of the Toyota SW4 for the second time this year. According to May’s registration numbers, H9 registered 1,220 cars, while SW4 had 1,187 registrations.
Despite the result of 33 more cars for the Chinese SUVthe SW4 is still the leader, to date, in the annual sales count. The Toyota SW4 has 5,661 registered cars, compared to 4,866 for the Haval H9.
The two are in a great rivalry in the segment. The SW4 customer is more traditional and loyal to the Japanese brand.
Recently, the Haval H9 received an update and became a little more expensive in the 2027 line. The now features a front grille with a matte black finish. The update aims to increase the SUV’s competitiveness against its competitors, mainly against the SW4.
In terms of mechanics, the engine still has a 2.4L turbodiesel with 184 hp and 48.9 kgfm of torque. The transmission is a nine-speed automatic.
At power, the SW4 is superior: there are 204 hp of power and 50.9 kgfm of torque. Inside, to GWM brings more technologies and a premium finish for the Haval H9 cabin. The instrument panel is 10.25 inches and the central screen measures 14.6”. Pairing for Android Auto is done wirelessly.
