“There is no place for Islamists in Lower Austria,” said state governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP) at the launch of the Radical Islam Observatory. Vice Governor Udo Landbauer (FPÖ) added: “With the observatory we are taking the next step to detect and extinguish Islamist embers.” The unit should be docked at the FH Wiener Neustadt, and a four-member advisory board should monitor its work.
