The governor of São Paulo Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) sanctioned this Wednesday, 10th, a law that gives the name of the mother of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to the viaduct located at km 15 of Rodovia dos Imigrantes. Olinda Bonturi Bolsonaro died in 2022 at the age of 94.
Her name gained national attention during the pandemic. Olinda was vaccinated against covid and would have received Coronavac, intensely criticized by Bolsonaro. The immunizer was responsible for enabling the start of the campaign in the country.
Bolsonaro’s mother lived in Eldorado (SP), in the Vale do Ribeira region, where the former president lived until he was a teenager. Bolsonaro is the third of six brothers. At 19, he moved to Resende (RJ), where he attended the Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras (AMAN).
The viaduct’s name change came from a 2023 bill by state deputy Paulo Mansur (PL), an ally of Tarcísio and the Bolsonaro family, in addition to being from the same party as the former president.
