Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced on Wednesday that they had struck US targets in Bahrain and Jordan. They responded to the US attacks on the Islamic Republic and warned of “harder retaliation” if the US continues its strikes. In the meantime, the US military has announced the end of its attacks on Iran. TASR informs about it according to the reports of AFP and Sky News.
“The war mongering US regime attacked several points in Jask, Sirik and Keshm Island in the early hours of the morning under false pretenses, damaging a telecommunication mast in Sirik and destroying two water reservoirs in the city,” the guards said in a statement broadcast by Iranian media.
The Revolutionary Guards added that they launched a drone strike against the US Navy’s 5th Fleet in Bahrain in response to this “insidious move by the enemy”. Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior announced that alarm sirens had sounded in the country. It urged residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place.
The Guards said in a statement that they “hit and destroyed” four major targets, including F-35 fighter jet emplacements at the air base and a US military command center in al-Azrak, Jordan. The Kuwaiti military announced on the X network that air defense systems were engaging “hostile air targets.” The Revolutionary Guards say they have hit a Kuwaiti air base that hosts US troops, The Guardian reports.
Iran has struck in Bahrain, Jordan and Kuwait following US strikes in the Islamic Republic, which the US military said were in response to the downing of its helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Arákchi warned that Iran’s armed forces “will not leave any attack or threat unanswered.” These attacks occurred despite Iran’s cease-fire with the US, which the parties concluded on April 8 for two weeks and subsequently extended.
