TVI managed to identify and interview the driver who caused moments of great tension on Avenida Marginal, in the Parede area, in Cascais, by driving in the wrong direction during the night of last Sunday.
Hugo Damásio took responsibility for the events and recognized the seriousness of the situation, stating that he was aware of what he did. Even so, he assured that he never intended to cause harm or put other people in danger.
The case generated great repercussion after several videos were shared on social media, showing the vehicle traveling in the opposite direction of traffic, knocking down bollards and forcing other drivers to take evasive maneuvers to avoid collisions.
Despite the panic caused, there were no reports of casualties or serious damage. The episode continues to be monitored by authorities, who are investigating the circumstances in which everything happened.
