Steven Spielberg is sure that we have already been visited by aliens: Scientists prove him right!

Director Steven Spielberg (79) while promoting his new sci-fi film Revelation Day, he stated that he is convinced that aliens have already visited the Earth. Scientists agree with him – so they claim that this possibility is likely, but so far there is a lack of evidence for it. “I am absolutely convinced that they were here and that they are here. And who knows, maybe they have always been here,” he said in an interview with CBS News.

The creator of the film Close Encounters of the Third Kind added that he bases his opinion on the information he has gathered throughout his life. “It’s based on the circumstantial evidence of everything I’ve gathered throughout my life, all the people I’ve listened to, all the documents I’ve seen, and all the testimony before Congress I’ve heard,” added Spielberg. Some scientists admit that a visit by an extraterrestrial civilization in the past is not completely excluded.

“It’s possible,” he said astrophyzik Jacco van Loon from Keele University. According to him, aliens would if they had visited Earth a billion years ago, they would have found mostly oceans with microbial life and land with no more complex organisms. “Even if they left no artifacts on Earth, an interesting possibility is that they may have left artifacts on the moon or elsewhere in the solar system to track Earth, or simply as debris,” van Loon thinks.

However, many experts draw attention to a fundamental problem – the huge distances between the stars. Thomas Haworth of Queen Mary University of London says it would take the Parker Solar Probe, the fastest human spacecraft, about 6,500 years to reach Proxima Centauri, the nearest known star with planets.

At the same time, nit rules out that more intelligent beings could have significantly faster vessels. Astronomer William Alston of the University of Hertfordshire recalled: “The speed of light appears to be the fastest possible speed in the universe. Nothing with mass can reach or exceed it.”
