US President Donald Trump says Iran has assured the United States that they are not requesting tolls to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
“IRAN DOES NOT REQUEST OR RECEIVE TOLLS, ANY INSURANCE COSTS OR ANY OTHER CHARGES OF ANY KIND FROM SHIPS THAT NAVIGATE THROUGH THE STRAIT OF HORMOUZ,” Trump said in a message published on his Truth Social platform. “If this information is false, the negotiations would end immediately.”
Criticized for some points of the memorandum of understanding sealed with Tehran, Trump added: “In addition, the United States has not given money to Iran nor has it released funds of its own money to that country. We will release some of that money, which is totally under our control, for our farmers and ranchers, for the purchase of corn, wheat, soybeans and other products.”
