Tarcísio is smaller than the seat of the SP government, says Márcio França

The pre-candidate for vice-governor of São Paulo on Fernando Haddad’s (PT) ticket, Márcio França (PSB), criticized the current governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) throughout the announcement of his candidacy in São Paulo. “He is a smaller person than the São Paulo government chair.”

During a press conference in the capital of São Paulo, Haddad also officially appointed former ministers Marina Silva (Rede) and Simone Tebet (PSB) to the Senate for São Paulo. He also highlighted that vice-president and former São Paulo governor Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) will work in the interior of the state in the campaign to reduce Tarcísio’s advantage.

“Tarcísio had the opportunity to visit the cities of São Paulo for three and a half years and he chose not to visit them. Tarcísio, I don’t think he was in 20% of the cities in person”, said França. “Alckmin did it every year, he went to every city.”

The former Minister of Entrepreneurship also said – given the possibility of the election being decided in the first round due to only Tarcísio and Haddad being pre-candidates – that it is necessary to be prepared for “surprises”. “When you risk the first shift, it is always tight. There is no shift that is a very wide shift. One shift is always tight, this way or that way. Because we expect it to be this way”, he stated.
