In the last hours:
· The Government of the Caribbean country has raised the death toll to 235 and the number of injured to 4,300.
· Spain has confirmed that among the deceased there are two Spaniards and that there are also 80 citizens unaccounted for.
· Rescue teams have been able to locate more than 200 people trapped in the rubble of buildings. In total, there are 2,227 families affected and 250 structures “affected or lost.”
· La Guaira, a coastal state in the north of the country and close to Caracas, is the most affected with “dozens” of collapsed buildings. “We can say that the state of La Guaira is a true tragedy and is becoming a disaster zone,” said Delcy Rodríguez.
· The president in charge of Venezuela has visited the affected areas and has assured that the Government is deployed to address the emergency and that they expect more support from the international community in the coming hours.
· Dozens of countries have sent help and rescuers to Venezuela, including Spain. The latest to join the list have been Chile and El Salvador, as well as Brazil and Mexico.
