A Portuguese citizen was rescued alive from the rubble in Venezuela, after having spent around 34 hours buried following the strong earthquakes that hit the country.
According to Jornal da Madeira, the man, identified as Vitor Sardinha, was removed from the wreckage of a building where he lived, in the La Guaira region. Other Portuguese descendants also lived in the same place, including his four-year-old daughter.
The victim’s brother, from Fajã das Ovelhas, confirmed that the man was found alive, after a long search and rescue operation.
