A widespread brawl broke out in parliament on Friday (June 26, 2026) during the late spring plenary. The confusion began during the question and answer session following the Prime Minister’s presentation of the government’s annual report.

The opposition, led by the former prime minister, made comments regarding the role played by Kobakhidze during the visit of the president of Azerbaijan to the country.
Opposition deputy Giorgi Sharashidze declared from the rostrum that Georgia “There has never been a prime minister like this”. The parliamentarian was referring to images showing the prime minister following the president of Azerbaijan and Bidzina Ivanishvili, honorary president of the Georgian Dream party.
“When President Aliyev was in Georgia, the whole country saw those images – of you [primeiro-ministro] standing in the corner. This directly shows your true role and position in this government.”said Sharashidze, followed by discussions coming from the plenary.
