Dutchwoman Steenbergen breaks world record in the 100 meter freestyle


Dutch swimmer Marrit Steenbergen has broken the almost decade-old world record in the 100 meter freestyle. In the final of the Sette Colli International Trophy in Rome, the world champion needed 51.68 seconds and was three hundredths faster than the Swede Sarah Sjöström’s previous record (51.71).
