Sarajevo – Austria’s U19 footballers have advanced early – as the first female ÖFB youth team – to reach the semi-finals of a European Championship. After the 3-0 opening win against Iceland, team boss Markus Hackl’s selection won 3-1 against Switzerland in Sarajevo on Wednesday. Katie Richter (41st) and Valentina Illinger (59th) put the ÖFB team 2-0 ahead before Switzerland shortened the lead. In stoppage time, Greta Spinn made it 3-1 (92′).
