The PT indicated the new mayor of, Álvaro Damião (União Brasil), an expert in China to be the holder of the Secretariat of International Relations, which will be created in the capital of Minas Gerais.
The proposed name is Erick Guerreiro, specialist in International Relations, with a master’s degree in the Asian country. He had stints for Chinese giant China Railway Group Limited (CREC) and acted at the Brazilian Embassy in Beijing – No career diplomat.
The nomination came from the national PT, but was endorsed by the legend bench in the City Council.
Although he has a technical profile, his nomination, if confirmed by the mayor, must ensure the support of the four party councilors to Damião’s management,
