Musk may be “the time he wants”, but he will want to go back to business, says Trump

President Donald Trump offered a new endorsement to counselor Elon Musk on Thursday amid criticism of the billionaire project to reduce government size. Trump said Musk can remain “the time he wants,” but will eventually return to his business. “Elon is fantastic,” Trump told journalists aboard Air Force One while heading to Florida for a long weekend.

As CEO of Tesla and Spacex, Musk has faced criticism for leading a revision of the US bureaucracy, which resulted in the dismissal of thousands of public servants. News recently emerged suggesting that Musk could move from Trump’s side soon, although it is unclear if this will happen before the end of his 130 -day term as a special government official, scheduled for late May.

Trump reiterated that Musk can be “the time he wants.” “He will be for a certain period and will then devote himself fully to his business. But he is doing an exceptional job,” said Trump. When asked how long Musk will remain, Trump replied, “I think a few months.”
