“Not now, guys, the president is talking,” the first lady said to a group that called the petista before he spoke
The first lady Janja da Silva scolded people who called for the president (PT) on Friday (4.ab.2025).
“They feel, now no. The president will talk”said Janja waving to people in the audience. The moment took place during the petista meeting with Cacique Raoni and indigenous leaders in Mato Grosso.
Watch (29s):
Before Lula speaks, Cacique Raoni charged promises that the president made to him since his inauguration.
“Since possession, I told the president, I made a charge so that he didn’t repeat some mistakes he did in the previous management. I didn’t like some of his jobs. But I told him: ‘President, we will work out right so that people are happy with our work.”he declared.
Lula stated that “Ensuring indigenous rights is absolute priority”but that “There is still much to be done” when demarcating and approving indigenous lands.
“We know that there is still much to be done, but our policies converge in this sense to fully ensure indigenous rights, always facing the challenges that are many, and need to be dealt with in a negotiated way with dialogue and transparency.”concluded the president.
