‘Visits’ by Mauro Vieira, Marina Silva, Paulo Teixeira and Luiz Marinho occur amid controversy involving the ministries, with the resignation of Carlos Lupi through the INSS scandal and the advancement of ministerial reform
Four ministers of the president’s government (PT) are expected by commissions in the House of Representatives this week. The “visits” occur in the midst of wear in the Ministries of Lula, dismissing the scandal of deviations from the National Institute of Social Security (), and advancement of ministerial reform, expected to replace the women’s portfolio, leaving Cida Gonçalves and entering Márcia Lopes. For two ministers, the presence will be mandatory, as it is a call. The Itamaraty Chief should attend the meeting of the Foreign Relations and National Defense Commission on Tuesday, 6, in the afternoon, to provide clarification on the diplomatic asylum granted to Nadine Heredia. The former first lady of Peru was convicted by Peruvian justice for corruption, in a lawsuit originated from Operation Lava Jato.
The Minister of the Environment, was also convened by the opposition and should attend the meeting of the Agriculture, Livestock, Supply and Rural Development Commission on Wednesday, 7, at 10am. The call came from two requirements: one of Deputy Evair Vieira de Melo (PP-ES), who asks the minister to provide clarification on the environmental impacts of building a new highway in Belém for COP30. Deputy Rodolfo Nogueira (PL-MS), rancher and farmer, whether Marina explains whether she “was involved or fostering” actions of the 21st edition of the Terra Livre camp, and about increasing fires and high in degradation in the Legal Amazon.
In the same commission, but the day before, the Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira, was invited by parliamentarians to discuss and analyze several guidelines. With requests from opposition deputies and governors, the minister should be asked about the price of food, the situation of land regularization in the country, alleged crimes committed by social movements during the “Red April”, government actions to resolve conflicts in the field, among others. Teixeira will also be invited to present the results of the folder policies and the plans for this year. The Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, was invited by the Labor Commission for meeting with the deputies on Wednesday. The collegiate said that the goal will be that the minister present “Work Plan for the year 2025” and discusses topics related to his folder.
Also on Wednesday, Carlos Lupi was expected in the Commission for the Defense of the Rights of the Elderly to provide clarification on the Billionaire Deviations of Retired and INSS PENSIONISTS. He, however, resigned from the Ministry of Social Security last Friday, 2, amid the scandal. As Estadão showed, this was the 11th exchange in the Esplanade of Ministries since the beginning of Lula’s management in 2023.
