Invading cyclist tries to cross goal in the 17th stage of the tour and is knocked down in the final stretch

The 17th stage of the return to France, arriving in Valence, was not only marked by the victory for Sprint by Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek), but also by an unusual episode that surprised all present: a cyclist decided to invade the course and tried to cross the goal line before professional cyclists, forcing the organization to intervene immediately.

The safety response was quick and effective. A police officer and a member of the organization were able to intercep the individual in the final stretch, knocking him to the ground in an authentic “plate” worthy of a rugby game.

The invader was promptly detained, and the race followed without further incidents, although already very tension due to rain and the various falls recorded in the final kilometers.
