used his social networks this Sunday morning (1) to comment on his last scene in “I’m Still Here”. In the film the actor plays deputy Rubens Paiva, arrested and disappeared during the period of the military dictatorship. “Waiting to make a scene. Not one more, that scene immortalized in 35mm”, he begins, referring to the moment in which the character is taken away by officers.

“Rubens never came back. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done, because I couldn’t be moved by what I knew. He didn’t know. At the time, without agreeing, I smiled at her [Fernanda Torres]I felt it was the right thing. A scene from a movie, not just another one. That film that took the public to the cinemas again, illuminating the present, telling about the past, attracting a huge interest in Brazilian cinema. A lot, many layers. I’m grateful to do what I love. I keep moving, always starting over, this is my virtuous circle”, he wrote in the publication that includes behind-the-scenes photos of the project.

Based on the book of the same name by Marcelo Rubens Paiva, published in 2015, “I’m Still Here” tells the story of Eunice Paiva, the writer’s mother.
