Criminal prosecution for suspicion of committing a crime of general threat and a crime of bodily harm was started by the police in connection with Monday (8 September) by a tragic traffic accident and a bus near Drienovci in the Košice-okolie district. TASR informed Košice regional police spokeswoman Lenka Ivanová.

The accident occurred on the flat section of the road I/16. The bus, which in addition to the driver was 32 passengers, headed from Turna nad Bodvou to the village of Drienovec. The truck went in the opposite direction. His driver has passed the opposite direction for unidentified reasons. “The truck driver should have reported to the police during documenting the event that got a puncture, as a result he went into the opposite direction and hit the bus there. Whether a truly defect, unsatisfactory technical condition or other circumstances have signed the emergence of this traffic accident, will be determined until further investigation and expert evidence”Said Ivanová.
The 30 -year -old truck driver was detained on the spot. Both the breath test and the orientation test for drug detection were negative. The bus driver, who succumbed to injuries in the hospital, will be possible to use addictive or narcotic drugs during the ordered autopsy.
The case was taken over by the investigator of the Criminal Police Department of the District Directorate of the Košice-okolie Police Corps. Both the bus and the truck were secured and will be subject to expert examination. “The investigation of this extensive traffic accident continues, experts from different sectors will be added to the course of the investigation,” added.
At the same time, the police share the request of Louis Pasteur University Hospital (UNLP) in Košice as well as asks for consideration against relatives of injured and survivors, but also a truck driver. Emphasizes that detecting details and feelings or sharing photos from the scene of the accident and the life of a poor bus driver may be very traumatic for participants.
