The bomb found during excavation work in the center of Bratislava was safely deactivated on Tuesday at 10.45 pm. It is then transferred to the designated location. The residents can thus return to the surrounding buildings that have been evacuated. The police inform the social network.

“There is no more danger in the evacuated area at the moment, and the residents of adjacent buildings can safely return to their dwellings and jobs,” The police are approaching.

The ammunition was found in the capital on Monday (8 September) in the evening during excavation work in the area of ​​the construction site near the intersection of the streets Landererova – Čulenova. The police were also called with pyrotechnics. They determined that this is an air bomb dating from the Second World War, the police said. The pyrotechnics secured the bomb for its further disposal. The police assured the inhabitants that there was no danger.

For the disposal of the found bomb, the police closed several roads in the center of Bratislava on Tuesday morning for all traffic. These were the streets of Mlynské Nivy, Košická, Port from Plynárenská, Landererova, Pribinov and Dostoevsky Rad on Krupkova Street. At the same time, it also closed the Apollo Bridge. Restrictions also affected several public transport connections.
