E -lar is the program that will support thousands of Portuguese families in replacing old appliances with more efficient electrical equipment. The initiative, funded by the Plan for Recovery and Resilience (PRR), has a 30 million euros appropriation and starts on September 30, providing for about 30,000 aggregates across the country.
Who can receive support
According to the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (DECO), all unique people of the age, organized into three distinct groups, may apply.
The first is that of families resident in neighborhoods covered by the “most sustainable neighborhoods” program, defined by municipalities to improve energy efficiency.
The second group corresponds to the beneficiaries of the social power tariff, which already receive discounts on the invoice due to low income.
The third includes all other people who, even though they are not in the first two groups, want to replace gas appliances with class A or higher electrical alternatives, such as induction plates, ovens or thermoacumulators.
According to Deco Proteste, in the first two groups the support also covers transportation and installation, ensuring a simpler replacement of the equipment.
How the process works
Explains the association that, after the approval of the application, the voucher must be accepted within five business days and used with the supplier within 60 days. Each voucher can only be used once and requires beneficiaries to store invoices and documents for any audits.
In addition, it is important to be aware that only the equipment provided for in the regulation can be purchased, all classified with energy efficiency to or higher.
