Transfers through MB Way became an indispensable tool in the daily life of the Portuguese. Simple and fast, do not require physical money or cards and facilitate payments and shipping. But what happens when there is an error? Is it possible to cancel a MB Way transfer? The answer depends on the status of the operation.
When you can cancel
Cancellation is only viable if the transfer is still pending. In this situation, just open the application, access the “activity” menu and select the operation, then choosing the option to cancel, says the Ekonomist Economics Digital Portal.
There are two reference deadlines:
- 2 hours: When the recipient has MB Way but has not yet chosen the reception card, the transfer is pending until accepted. If there is no acceptance during this period, the operation expires;
- 48 hours: When the recipient does not have MB Way installed, it receives a notification to join the service. If you do not do so, the transfer is automatically annulled. During these 48 hours, the sender can also cancel the operation manually.
Transfers already completed
If the transfer has already been madecancellation is no longer available. In such cases, the recommendation of SIBS is clear: it should contact the bank immediately and request the annulment, although the reversal is not guaranteed. Alternatively, you can try to recover the value directly with the recipient.
Case of MB NET cards
MB Way also allows you to generate MB Net virtual cards for online purchases, refers to the same source. If you make a payment and then you want to cancel the purchase, you will have to ask the merchant to reimburse, providing data from the virtual card used.
These data are available in the application, in the “Activity” menu, where you can consult the MB Net card number associated with the operation.
Conclusion
Cancel a MB Way transfer is only possible when it is pending, according to the. Once completed, the only hypothesis involves the intervention of the bank or the recipient’s voluntary return. Already in payments made with MB NET cards, the process follows the usual rules of reimbursement with the merchant.
