The Prime Minister’s government approved this Thursday (9.Oct.2025) the one proposed by the US to end the war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The ceasefire is expected to come into force on Friday (Oct 10).
The agreement was approved at a meeting attended by all of Netanyahu’s ministers and US envoys for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The meeting lasted two hours and ended shortly after midnight local time (6pm Brasília time).
After the meeting, the Prime Minister stated that Israel fought for 2 years “to achieve their war aims” e “you’re about to get it” the return of the 48 hostages still held by Hamas: “We have fought for these two years to achieve our war aims. One of those war aims is to return the hostages, all the hostages, the living and the dead. And we are on the verge of achieving that aim.”
