Trump unveils renovated bathroom amid changes at White House; photos

United States President Donald Trump announced the renovation of the bathroom in the Lincoln Bedroom at the White House, marking yet another change to the building during his second term. See the gallery above.

Trump has been a luxurious touch to the historic mansion. In any case, he revealed the remodeled bathroom, covered in white and black marble, through social media.

“I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom at the White House. It was renovated in the 1940s in a style art deco with green tiles, which was totally inappropriate for Lincoln’s time”, argued the president in his publication.

“I covered it with polished Statuario marble in black and white. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, may be the original marble!”

The White House did not immediately respond to questions about whether the bathroom project

Lincoln’s green-tiled bathroom dates back to a White House renovation carried out by then-President Harry Truman, according to a 2007 Washington Post article.

At the time, then-President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush renovated the Lincoln Bedroom, which he used as an office.

The Post article describing Bush’s renovation states that they left the “well-preserved” bathroom intact.
