Drone images, released by the state government of Rio de Janeiro this Sunday (2), show moments of the mega operation against the CV (Comando Vermelho)held in the Alemão and Penha Complexes.
The videos show the “war zone” that took place last Tuesday (28). , used by the suspects to prevent the advance of security forces.
The images recorded coordinated attacks and ambushes. In one of the scenes, civil police officers advance into a forested area and are surprised by a sequence of shots.

Megaoperation
The operation involved the participation of 2,500 Civil and Military Police officers. In total, 121 people died, including 117 suspects and four police officers.. 113 individuals were arrested and 120 weapons were seized, 93 of which were rifles. The loss to organized crime is estimated at R$12.8 million.
According to a survey by the Civil Police Weapons and Explosives Inspection Coordination, part of the weapons arsenal originates from countries such as Venezuela, Argentina, Peru, Belgium, Russia, Germany and Brazil.
There are also weapons diverted from the Armed Forces and rifles assembled with smuggled parts and others purchased online.
