Pizza with a potato base is a great idea for lunch or dinner, especially when there are potatoes in the house. Just grate them, combine them with other ingredients and bake them to create a crispy, filling base. This version perfectly replaces the classic cake. It is perfect as a party snack because its appearance attracts attention.
It’s also excellent a proposition for people avoiding gluten – this pizza is gluten-free and extremely tasty. However, it is worth remembering to carefully check the labels of additives (cheddar cheese and Parma ham) before preparation, because although they naturally do not contain gluten, they may have been contaminated with trace amounts of gluten during production and packaging.
Ingredients:
Bottom:
- 700 g potatoes,
- 50 g sera cheddar,
- egg,
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt,
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.
Extras:
- 100 g mozzarella,
- red onion,
- 4 slices of Parma ham,
- 50 g of parmesan.
Additionally:
- chopped parsley for serving.
How to do it:
- Prepare the base. Peel the potatoes and grate them on a large grater. Grate the cheese as well. Place the potatoes on a kitchen towel and squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Place them in a large bowl. Add cheese, egg, salt and pepper. Mix everything until uniform. Place the potato mass on an oven tray lined with baking paper and form a flat circle with a diameter of 30 cm. Put the base in the oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned.
- Assemble the pizza. Remove the cake from the oven and sprinkle it with grated mozzarella cheese, chopped onion and torn Parma ham. Sprinkle the top with grated Parmesan and chopped parsley. Alternatively, you can use other favorite ingredients – salami, tomatoes, corn and others.
- Place the pizza with a potato base in an oven preheated to 220 degrees Celsius and bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Serve the dish warm, immediately after preparation. Store leftovers in the fridge and use within 2 days. Heat in a pan.
