Infarmed suspends Carpi and SeiBellaBrasil and warns consumers to "not use them"

Suspension is due to non-compliance with current legal regulations. Authority advises consumers who have these products not to use them due to the presence of an ingredient banned in cosmetics since March 1, 2022.

The National Medicines Authority (Infarmed) ordered the immediate suspension of sales and withdrawal from the market of all products from the Carpi Cosméticos and SeiBellaBrasil brands, due to legal non-compliance and use of a prohibited substance, it was announced today.

Following an inspection of the entity Carpi Cosméticos Europa, Infarmed identified various legal infractions in placing cosmetic products on the national market.

In an informative circular Infarmed explains that Carpi Cosméticos Europa placed several cosmetic products on the national market “without prior consideration being given to the compliance with legal standards in force, particularly with regard to product notification, identification of the Responsible Person in the European Union and to labeling requirements”.

Furthermore, the presence of ingrediente Butylphenyl methylpropional, banned in cosmetics since March 1, 2022.

“Consumers who have these products should not use them“, warns Infarmed.
