The CPI for the Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting will hear on Tuesday (10), from 2:30 pm, businessman Thiago Chambó Andrade, appointed by the Maximum Penalty operation – conducted by the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) of the Public Ministry of Goiás, together with the Civil Police of Goiás – as one of the members of the criminal organization specialized in the manipulation of sports betting, operating in Goiás, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Maranhão.
The hearing responds to a request presented by the committee’s rapporteur, senator Romário (PL-RJ).
According to the rapporteur, Thiago was described by investigations as a member of the group of financiers of the criminal group, directly involved in the alleged manipulation of results of 13 games in the first division of the 2022 Brazilian Championship.

Romário also states that, in three different stages of investigation, the Public Ministry and Civil Police of Goiás showed details of a complex network criminal organization, with a division of tasks and areas of activity: recruiters, financiers, bettors and recruited players.
Within the alleged criminal scheme, Thiago Andrade would be responsible for co-opting players, in addition to promising and making undue payments to athletes.
