During the presentation of the Mesa Redonda Trophy, on TV Gazeta, this Monday (09/12), Yuri Alberto spoke about his future at Corinthians, which until then was uncertain.

The award presenters were direct when questioning whether Yuri would stay at Corinthians. Without much justification, the player spoke about whether he would remain at the club.

– Yes – he replied, without question.

Earlier, Corinthians’ football executive, Fabinho Soldado, held a press conference to talk about the 2025 season. Among the topics were the permanence of important players, such as Yuri Alberto, and Timão’s plans to strengthen itself.

With a historic start, Corinthians finished the Brasileirão in seventh place, with 56 points, and a place in the pre-Libertadores 2025. For the manager, success next year is related to the maintenance of players.

– The success of 2025 will depend on this maintenance, I hope not to talk about exits later on, just maintaining what we have built – declared Soldado.

The club is interested in renewing Ángel Romero, André Carrillo and Talles Magno. Talles is at Timão on loan and belongs to New York City.

– I’m going to put Romero together with other teammates. Because then I have Romero, I have Carrillo, who is undergoing expansion [de contrato]… Talles has already shown interest in his contract as well [ser estendido]. So, all these players are of interest to Corinthians. Romero has a clause in his contract that there is automatic renewal. We have already started the conversation with your representatives. As soon as possible, I also hope that this matter will also be resolved. Our intention is to remain with everyone – he assured.

Will Yuri Alberto stay at Corinthians?

Asked about the permanence of center forward Yuri Alberto, who is currently 23 years old, Fabinho preached that Corinthians will only move in the market if, in fact, they lose pieces.

– It is our objective to keep Yuri. And not just Yuri, but any other athlete who has a change (possibility of exit), then yes, we will activate the market. We have the competent sector to pass on the name (of possible reinforcements) to us, so we can go after it and carry out the hiring. We can’t talk about speculation, when there is a concrete situation we will sit down and talk. Yuri is happy, Garro, Memphis, Carrillo, Martínez… everyone who arrived in this window is happy, the squad is very tight, it’s difficult to achieve that in a short period of time. Having a cast that adjusted along the way and ending the way we did, it is necessary to maintain harmony, happiness between them – he detailed.

With 31 goals and seven assists in 57 matches, the center forward was Brazil’s top scorer this season. Yuri Alberto’s contract with Corinthians runs until December 2027.

In November, presenter Neto, from Band, reported that the player was unlikely to stay at Corinthians in 2025. According to the communicator, Corinthians would raise around R$186 million from the sale of Yuri Alberto, an amount below the termination fine, stipulated at R$ $300 million. One of the speculated destinations was Nottingham Forest, from England.

– The speech that the president spoke is not just a question of alignment, it is reality. When I was an athlete I also dreamed of playing in Europe. A dream that shows the greatness of the player. Before any departure, it is important that the athlete wins titles for Corinthians. Yuri Alberto also thinks so. It’s part of being an athlete to receive polls. So far there hasn’t been any official offer, but I’m sure that Yuri, even though he dreams of playing in Europe, he also has the dream of making history at Corinthians – said Fabinho Soldado, also at a press conference.

In the last transfer window, Premier League clubs, such as West Ham and Southampton, showed interest in having Yuri Alberto.
