Lula, who is "lucid" and "speaking", will have to undergo surgery to avoid a new intracranial hemorrhage

The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, is “lucid”, “oriented” and “conversing” after being, supposedly derived from a domestic accident he suffered in mid-October.

This appears in a medical report released this Wednesday by the Syrian-Lebanese Hospital of Sao Paulo and in which it is confirmed that Lula “had a good night” and “is progressing well”, without complications in the postoperative period. Doctors maintain a drainage while waiting for “new routine examinations”, although on Tuesday they ruled out possible consequences.

Later, the health center updated Lula’s report, who “remains in intensive care” and has spent the day “without complications”, performing physical therapy exercises and receiving visits from family members. “As part of the therapeutic program, tomorrow morning he will complete the surgery with an endovascular procedure,” the Hospital added.

The 79-year-old president hit his head in the bathtub of the official residence and, although he did not lose consciousness, he required five stitches in his back. The accident caused him to cancel his trip to Russia to participate in the BRICS+ summit, although on later dates he did maintain his agenda and in fact traveled last week to a Mercosur leader summit in Uruguay.
