Anvisa evaluates legal measures against videos about drinking detergent

The Minister of Health Alexandre Padilha stated this Monday (11) that the Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) received videos from people drinking Ypê detergent. The images would be a form of protest by right-wing voters, after the regulatory agency ordered the suspension of the brand’s products due to production irregularities.

“Anvisa received these videos and is analyzing each one of them and analyzing what can be done through legal means,” said Padilha. According to the Minister of Health, the department will analyze what can be done judicially.

Padilha spoke to the press at an event in Planalto to sanction the bill that establishes the National Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Covid-19.

According to him, the videos attempt to transform a technical decision by the agency into a political dispute: “Anvisa has no partisan side.”

The minister reinforced that the circulation of content in defense of Ypê began after the repercussions that the company’s owners made donations to the former president’s campaign Jair Bolsonaro (PL), em 2022.

Last Thursday (7), Anvisa published Resolution No. 1,834/2026, which determined the suspension of manufacturing and the collection of batches of dishwasher, brand liquid soap and disinfectants with final number 1.

The decision was made after a technical assessment identified irregularities in stages considered critical in the production process.

On Friday (9), the products were released again after an appeal presented by the company. Despite this, the recommendation for consumers to avoid using the items mentioned in the resolution remains valid until the recall process is completed.
