The PSDB national executive decided this Thursday (12) that the vacancy opened in the Legislative Assembly with the future departure of state deputy Vinicius Camarinha (PSDB) will go to the second alternate of the PSDB-Cidadania federation, Damaris Moura (PSDB), and not with Ortiz Junior, the first in line.
Camarinha was elected mayor of Marília in October and, therefore, will leave the state Legislature next year. There was a dispute over who .
In the 2022 election, the first substitute was Ortiz Junior. But, this year, he left the PSDB for the Republicans. He ended up defeated and, afterwards, tried to join the PSDB again.
But the return to the toucan’s nest was contested, including by Damaris, who claimed that Ortiz “infringed the principle of party loyalty” and should not take Camarinha’s seat.
“After his defeat in the municipal election, disregarding statutory requirements, he tries to return to the party without previously communicating the PSDB national directory, using, for this purpose, the Taubaté executive committee, made up of his friends and relatives”, said Damaris.
This Thursday, the PSDB national executive, unanimously, understood that Ortiz’s new membership is null and void. According to the case’s rapporteur, federal deputy Paulo Abi-Ackel (PSDB), the attempt at “reaffiliation” revealed “irregularities and disrespect for party statutes”.
The Panel reached out to Ortiz, but was unable to contact him.
