The President had to undergo two medical procedures on his head this week, as a result of the fall he suffered in the bathroom of the Palácio da Alvorada; according to a medical bulletin released this Saturday, discharge should take place by next Tuesday
The president (PT) remains hospitalized at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, under semi-intensive care, according to a medical bulletin released this Saturday (14). The Chief Executive has been hospitalized since the beginning of the week and is expected to be discharged by next Tuesday (17). Lula had to undergo two medical procedures on his head this week, as a result of the fall he suffered in the bathroom of the Palácio da Alvorada, in October. “Today, he will only do blood tests, with no new imaging exam schedule. He remains lucid and oriented, eating and walking”, says the document. The agent continues to be monitored by the medical team led by cardiologist Roberto Kalil Filho and infectious disease specialist Ana Helena Germoglio.
Last Friday (13), Lula was filmed walking through the hospital after leaving the ICU. The video of the walk was published on his Instagram profile. This was Lula’s first public appearance since he was hospitalized, after suffering severe headaches. The president underwent two surgeries: the first, a craniotomy, and the second, an embolization of the middle meningeal artery. According to Lula’s personal doctor, Roberto Kalil Filho, the second surgery carried out on Thursday, 12, was a “success”. The expectation is that the president will return to Brasília next week. Doctors informed that visits are prohibited and will continue to be prohibited while Lula is hospitalized. Currently, only family members are allowed to visit the president. The first lady accompanies her husband to the hospital.
Lula’s health problem stems from a fall he suffered in October in the bathroom of the Palácio da Alvorada. According to doctor Rogério Tuma, the accident caused bruises on both sides of the skull, one of which had been absorbed by the body. “The president is normal. He is very well and able to perform any act of civil life. The only thing is that there is a medical recommendation not to exert yourself physically and mentally,” Tuma said at a press conference.
