One of the main points discussed was the reinforcement of security in the central area of the city, especially in the place where the presentations will take place. This year, the main stage will be installed in Revolution Square, close to the bandstand, a change that, according to the organization, facilitates public control, improves inspection and guarantees greater fluidity in traffic in the region.

According to the municipal secretary of Infrastructure and Urban Mobility, Cid Ferreira, the change in the stage location also contributes to road safety. Rua Rui Barbosa, in front of the city hall, will remain free during the day, with possible closures only at night. “The proposal is to maintain the tradition of carnival, but with planning that prioritizes people’s safety, mobility and comfort,” he highlighted.

Another highlight of the planning is the strengthening of the video monitoring system. The City Hall informed that additional cameras will be installed in Revolution Square and around the event, covering a radius of approximately 800 meters. According to the head of the municipality’s Military Office, Ezequiel Bino, all access routes to the carnival will be monitored, which will allow suspicious situations to be identified and to act quickly if necessary.

The Civil Police also announced increased service during the festive period. The teams from the Flagrantes Central Police Station (Defla) will have expanded shifts, in addition to the support of the intelligence sector, which will work in an integrated manner with the other security forces to monitor possible occurrences and guarantee agile responses.

The Carnival 2026 schedule begins on Friday (13), with the choice of King Momo and the Queen of Carnival. On Saturday (14), the Gay Queen and Trans Queen contests will take place. Sunday (15) will be dedicated to dancing for children, seniors and wheelchair users, as well as the samba block parade. On Tuesday (17th), ending the party, the inclusive dances and the traditional Blocos de Sujo competition will take place again.
