Coach Dorival Júnior spoke, this Wednesday (28), about Corinthians’ frustrated negotiation for the midfielder, who belongs to São Paulo. The commander, after the 2-1 defeat to Bahia, admitted that he needed a player with these characteristics to reinforce the squad.
“I feel because he is a quality boy, he has a lot of wood to burn, to work with. With me, it was very important. It’s a characteristic that I needed. It didn’t happen, I’m sorry, but we have to look ahead. We have to look for what is within our reach”, commented Dorival, who asked for more reinforcements to arrive.
So far, the club has agreed to sign defender Gabriel Paulista (permanent), right-back Pedro Milans (permanent) and midfielder Matheus Pereira (loan). The next to sign a contract, also on loan, is winger Kaio César.
Goalkeeper João Ricardo, from Fortaleza, is set to sign a contract from March.
The club is still looking for another defender, at least a midfielder, a left-back and a speed striker.
The board prioritizes players who are free on the market or available for loan. Timão is unable to pay the transfer fee.
