Lucas Paquetá will return to Flamengo eight years after leaving. The player arrived in Rio de Janeiro this Thursday (29/1) to sign the contract with the Rio de Janeiro club. Created by Ninho do Urubu, Paquetá has a history with Rubro-Negro and now promises to write new victorious chapters.
What number will Paquetá wear on Flamengo’s shirt?
In his first spell at Flamengo, Paquetá wore numbers 39, 29 and 11. Upon his return to the club, the player will wear number 20. The choice of midfielder was a tribute to Vini Jr, from Real Madrid, another creation of the Ninho with whom the new red-and-black reinforcement shone at the beginning of his career, almost 10 years ago.
Flamengo’s new reinforcement was welcomed by hundreds of fans at Galeão Airport, this Thursday morning. After leaving the airport, the new reinforcement went to a private clinic to undergo tests. Then, go to Ninho do Urubu.
If his name is published in the CBF BID by this Friday (30/1), the midfielder will be able to debut for Flamengo on Sunday, against Corinthians, in the decision of the Brazilian Super Cup.

Paquetá negotiations with Flamengo
After negotiations dragged on for a few weeks, Flamengo raised the offer to 42 million euros (around R$260 million) in an attempt to seal the deal with West Ham.
The English had already given the green light to a proposal worth 41.25 million euros (R$255.9 million), but there was still an impasse related to the form of installments.
As a result, Rubro-Negro adjusted the value and defined that the payment will be made in a diluted form until 2028.
Negotiations between the Rio club and Paquetá have been defined for a few weeks. The midfielder will sign a contract valid for five years after undergoing medical examinations.
Lucas Paquetá did not take the field in West Ham’s most recent matches. The athlete reported back pain and chose to stay away from training and games.
The player’s last performance was on January 6, in the defeat against Nottingham Forest. Until then, the Brazilian had been a constant presence among the English team’s starters.
