United States President Donald Trump said that Alex Pretti, the man shot dead by federal agents in Minnesota, was an “agitator and perhaps insurgent”, he wrote in a post on the social network Truth Social this Friday (30).
Immigration agents fired several shots at Pretti, an ICU nurse at a veterans hospital, on Saturday (January 24).
His death, which was the second fatal confrontation between ICE agents and U.S. citizens in the U.S. state of Minnesota this month, sparked national outrage.
ICE agents in Minnesota were ordered Wednesday to avoid confrontations with “agitators” while enforcing Trump’s immigration policies, according to internal guidelines analyzed by the Reuters news agency.
