The Minister of Planning and Budget, , stated this Friday (30) that she will leave her position by March 30 and that she will be a candidate, but there is still no decision regarding which position she will run for.
She said that she spoke with the president (PT) about a candidacy for the Senate and that she should not try for the Government of .
“I understand that São Paulo has two important, important names, who are capable of performing very well and even taking [as eleições] for a second round, which are the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the vice-president.”
Tebet’s name has been mentioned for the state dispute against (Republicans) amid Haddad’s resistance to contesting the election and Alckmin’s preference to remain Lula’s vice president.
For now, says Tebet, the only certainty is that she will leave the ministry and be a candidate “for something” and that in the discussions there was talk about the possibility of leaving through the states of São Paulo or Mato Grosso do Sul.
According to Tebet, no agreement has been made yet and new conversations are scheduled before Carnival. “We don’t discuss party changes, we don’t discuss positions, we don’t even discuss the Government of the State of São Paulo” he stated.
She said that, in the past, she invited her to join the group.
The minister participated in an event at Insper to launch an observatory on the quality of public spending.
After this year’s electoral cycle, he stated, there will be an opportunity to control government spending, which was not possible to do in 2022.
