Trump says he will sue writer over Epstein case

Republican claims that Michael Wolff conspired with businessman who killed himself in jail to try to harm him

The President of the United States, (Republican Party), said on Saturday (Jan. 31, 2026) that “probably” will sue the American writer because of the Epstein case. He made the statement to journalists during an interview with media professionals aboard Air Force One.

Trump was asked what he thought of the latest release of documents related to the case of businessman Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019) and whether he thought his critics were satisfied. The Republican then criticized Wolff and claimed that he and Epstein were “conspiring” to try to harm him.

“This guy was conspiring with Epstein to harm me. I didn’t see it, but some very important people told me I didn’t. it just absolves me, but it’s the opposite of what people wanted, the radical left. Wolff, a 3rd class writer, was conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to do me harm, politically and otherwise. That’s very clear, so we’re probably going to sue Wolff for that.”said Trump.

Among the thousands of documents in the Epstein case is an email dated February 1, 2019 sent by the businessman to Michael Wolff. In the message, which has been widely circulated by the Republican’s allies on social media, the executive tells the writer that Trump was “often” your home, but “never got a massage” –which can be interpreted as some type of sexual activity.

Wolff is the author of ““a book released in 2018 with behind-the-scenes details of the Republican government. He launched in 2025 “” – still without translation into Portuguese.
