Treasury investigates a possible ‘hack’ that compromises personal, banking and tax data of citizens | Economy

He is investigating a potential cyber attack on his databases. According to the cyber attacker himself in a specialized forum, improper access would have compromised the personal, banking and tax data of approximately 47.3 million citizens.

Sources from the Ministry of Finance consulted by this means have assured that, for the moment, there are no indications that it has occurred, although those responsible for security continue working to rule out any attack.

The alert has been launched by the cybersecurity firm Hackmanac through the social network X, where it warns of an alleged cyberattack attributed to an actor called ‘HaciendaSec’.

According to this company, the alleged attackers would be offering for sale an updated database that would include information on 47.3 million citizens, such as DNI/NIF numbers, full names, addresses, telephone numbers, emails, bank details and other financial information related to tax obligations.
