Red Cross launches 7th edition of award for journalists – 02/03/2026 – Novo em Folha

Registration for the , promoted by the regional delegation for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, is open until March 29, 2026.

Reports and documentaries published or shown from September 1, 2024 to March 29, 2026 in print, television, radio or digital platforms can compete.

The award recognizes works that address humanitarian issues in contexts of armed conflicts, with a focus on the impacts of violence on affected people and populations. In this edition, the award has a unique category, dedicated to narratives on international humanitarian themes.

The organizing committee especially encourages the submission of works that make reference to, dealing with issues such as humanitarian assistance, migration and refuge, attacks on medical missions, disappearances and sexual violence in contexts of war.

The winning entry will be awarded an expenses-paid trip to a country where the ICRC operates operationally, allowing the journalist to follow and cover humanitarian work on the ground.

The three best works will receive a certificate, and the finalists will be announced in July 2026. The award ceremony will take place in São Paulo, on a date to be defined.
