“Jamie must be out for longer. It’s a great shame for him. There was a tear in his hamstring. I haven’t worked with him for so long, but I know what a career he has and what an extraordinary player he is. It will be a big loss for us”, said the coach.

The new low comes at a time when , in the semi-final of the English League Cup, which ended the team’s run of five wins.

Gittens is one of eight players on the squad out due to injury. The list also includes striker Pedro Neto and midfielders Dário Essugo and Roméo Lavia.

Despite the recent setback, the Blues are enjoying a good season. The team won its last three games in the Premier League, rose to fifth place and secured a place in the round of 16 of the Champions League before being eliminated in the national tournament.

Rosenior highlighted the squad’s reaction after the defeat in the London derby.

“The players were devastated in the dressing room, as expected. But I spoke to them. There are setbacks in life, the important thing is how you react. The response in training and meetings was very positive. Now we need to focus on the future, which is Wolves on Saturday”, he concluded.
