The city of Galanta warns the public about temporary traffic restrictions at the new cemetery on Monday, February 9. Between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., the connecting road Železničiarska – Hodská will be temporarily closed. The reason for the restrictions is the funeral of the former mayor of Galanta Alexandra Mézesain which high public participation is expected, the town hall warned.
The last farewell to the former mayor will take place on Monday, February 9 at 3:00 p.m. at the new cemetery in Galant. The connecting road Železničiarska – Hodská will serve as a parking area for the participants of the funeral at this time. Access to it will be possible exclusively from Hodská street. After the funeral, the vehicles will leave in the direction of Železničiarska Street. Traffic on the site will be controlled by members of the city police at the specified time.
Alexander Mézes headed the city as chairman of the city’s national committee from 1986 to 1990 and later as mayor from 2002 to 2010. He died on February 3 at the age of 77.
