Banco do Brasil’s balance sheet sheds light on agribusiness defaults. In the fourth quarter of 2025, delays in the sector lasting more than 90 days reached 6% of the portfolio, compared to 4.84% in September. It was the tenth consecutive quarter of increase.
The bank’s agribusiness portfolio totaled R$406.1 billion in the periodwith growth of 2.1% in 12 months and 1.8% compared to the previous quarter. The sector represents 1/3 of BB’s total portfolio, of R$1.2 trillion.
In the balance sheet, the bank states that the movement reflects the effects of the 2024/25 harvest, with the increase in requests for judicial recovery in the sector and the need to reclassify the risk of many customers.
According to the bank, defaults of more than 90 days totaled R$24.7 billion, of which almost 20% were from debtors with requests for judicial recovery.
