Bad news for Slovaks: The prediction of the Council for Budget Responsibility does not bode well!

Without additional measures, the deficit of Slovak public finances will rise again above the level of 5% of gross domestic product (GDP) from 2027. From this year’s 4.5%, it should grow to 5.3% of GDP next year and up to 6% of GDP by 2029. This follows from the updated medium-term fiscal forecast published by the Council for Budget Responsibility (RRZ) on Friday. The prediction is based on the current state of the legislation and the latest macroeconomic forecast in the scenario without further measures (NPC).
