The signing of midfielder Cauly fills a gap in the São Paulo squad, identified by coach Hernán Crespo. In serious financial difficulties to strengthen the squad, Tricolor counts on football executive Rui Costa as an asset for the arrival of reinforcements.
According to Crespo, Cauly has characteristics that current players do not have. A midfielder, he can fill the gap left since Oscar’s departure, who will retire.
Unable to spend on economic rights since 2025, Tricolor signed five signings for the season: goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, right-back Lucas Ramon, defender Matheus Dória, midfielder Danielzinho and Cauly himself. Among the quintet, two are starters, and the former Bahia midfielder was an important arrival to fulfill the Argentine coach’s wishes.
