Unafisco Nacional (National Association of Tax Auditors) expressed repudiation of the operation launched by the PF () which had one of the targets being a tax auditor from the Federal Revenue Service (Supreme Federal Court).

Despite defending investigations, Unafisco says that sanctions require robust justification and consistent evidentiary support. And it states that employees cannot be embarrassed before the investigation is completed.
In a harsh tone, the note says that auditors “cannot, once again, be turned into scapegoats in the midst of institutional crises” and concludes that neither the Revenue nor civil servants can be “subjected to public exposure or institutional constraints before the conclusion of the investigations”.

The entity recalls that, in 2019, also through the investigation, the minister removed two auditors on suspicion of leaking information from ministers’ relatives. It turns out that the accusations were not proven and the servers were reinstated.
Sindifisco, which also represents the category, expressed concern about the leaks, but stated that duly motivated access to taxpayer data “does not constitute a breach of confidentiality and is part of the work routine of tax auditors at the Federal Revenue Service”.
