Flamengo lost to Lanús 1-0 in the first game of the Recopa Sul-Americana, this Thursday (19), in La Fortaleza, Argentina. Castillo scored the winning goal for Argentina, after having found the net twice, but having the shots disallowed for offside.

The match had Lanús superior almost the entire time. In the first half, the team nullified Flamengo, who only had one chance with Everton Cebolinha. Filipe Luis still tried to reverse the situation in the second stage, but saw the team being dominated by the home team, who sealed the victory.

The decisive game takes place on the 26th, at Maracanã, in Rio. Before that, Flamengo faces Madureira, on Sunday (22), in the semifinals of the Campeonato Carioca. On the same day, Lanús visits Argentinos Juniors for the Argentine Championship.

The game started with a South American football feel, marked by disputes in the middle. What was different was the goal scored by Castillo, in the 10th minute, after a charge and. The move was disallowed for offside, but it showed how dangerous Lanús could be at set pieces.

During the first half, Flamengo started to have more possession of the ball, without giving it away. Éverton Cebolinha wasted the best chance, after a pass from Arrascaeta that left him in a position to finish inside the area. Goalkeeper Losada saved.

Lanús, however, maintained solid marking and avoided red-and-black rises. Coach Mauricio Pellegrino set up the team to neutralize the Flamengo midfield and succeeded.

Better in the first half, Lanús started to attack more in the second half. With less than 15 minutes, Filipe Luís turned to Pedro and Samuel Lino to try to change the situation.

What we saw, however, was more pressure from Lanús. Flamengo had no resources to escape the Argentine marking, while the home team managed to impose themselves and remain in the attack.

Castillo scored his second of the night, following a corner. Referee Alexis Herrera once again canceled the shot due to the attacker’s irregular position.

Flamengo tried to move up, but stopped against the Argentine defense. Lanús maintained high pressure and recovered the ball in the attacking field in the 30th minute. Marsich made a perfect cross for Castillo to appear between Leo Ortiz and Léo Pereira and score his third goal of the game, the first valid one.

There was no reaction from Flamengo, who continued to be canceled by Lanús. Pellegrino kept the team scoring high. The Cariocas managed to finish again in extra time, with a cross, but Pedro only headed the ball wide.
